Last Updated: January 1st, 2021

This Privacy Policy explains how resolution.fail ("the service") collects and uses about you. If this privacy policy changes, you will be notified by email.

Personal Note

This service is built and maintained by a single individual who values your privacy and is an expert on digital security. I hope the non-corporate nature of this service is enough to convince you that I am not trying to invade your privacy, sell your information, or advertise the latest style of yoga pants to you. The following is clear legal language as to how this service interacts with your information.

Ask a question about the privacy policy

Collection of Information

The service only collects information that you specifically provide. When you sign up for an account, we only need to store and verify your email address. You can optionally provide your name and a password to protect your account. Passwords are stored using modern hashing/encryption techniques. When you create a resolution, we only store the specific information you enter, along with the results of all periodic emails sent to you about the resolution.

You can permanently delete your account and data at any time from the account management page.

Automatically Collected Information

When you access the service, we automatically collect analytics on your usage with Google Analytics. We do not share any personal information like email address or user-defined fields with Google. Google Analytics collects the type of browser you use, access times, pages viewed, your IP address, and your interactions with the service. We only use Google Analytics for analytics purposes, such as measuring the effectiveness of a publicity campaign. We never use Google Analytics to inspect the individual actions of any particular user.

Use of Information

The information you submit is used to provide, maintain, and improve the service. The information may also be used to send you notices, updates, security alerts, and other one-time communications about your account.

We may also use your information to analyze trends and activities in connection with the service, to provide a better experience to all users. Your information may also be used to personalize the service to you and your particular use cases.

Third-Party Offers

For users with a basic (free) plan, we may also offer you third-party products, services, offers, or events that may be of interest to you. Currently I have no plan to include advertising in any emails, but may need to exercise this option if large numbers of free users drive up email delivery costs.

Sharing of Information

The service will never share your information with any third party.

Data Retention

The information you provide is stored as long as it is necessary to provide the service to you. You can permanently delete all your data at any time.

Cookies

You can configure your browser to accept or reject cookies. Please note that if you choose to reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of the service.

Communications

You can opt out of emails at any time by clicking the "mute resolution" link at the bottom of any email. If you opt-out of specific communications, we may still send you one-time notifications regarding the service.
